Stephen McGillivray, CTC, is the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of Travel Leaders Group, a North American travel company that generates gross travel sales approaching $21 billion annually and directly employs over 1,000 staff managing operations of more than 7,000 company-owned, franchised and affiliated travel agencies in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Greece, Ireland and Australia.  Today, Travel Leaders Group has over 40,000 travel agents working directly for the organization or under one of its brands.

As Travel Leaders Group’s CMO, Mr. McGillivray is responsible for all marketing activities and related synergies throughout the $21 billion enterprise. These responsibilities include all business-to-business and business-to-consumer channels. As a member of Travel Leaders Group’s senior leadership team, Mr. McGillivray directs the marketing strategies of the various business units across the group, and he also contributes to the strategic direction of the company.

Mr. McGillivray is a longtime veteran of the travel industry. Prior to his role as CMO of Travel Leaders Group, Mr. McGillivray served as vice president of marketing and public relations for Vacation.com, which was acquired by Travel Leaders Group in December 2010. Mr. McGillivray came to Vacation.com in August 2000 directly from the American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA), the travel agency industry’s trade association. At ASTA, Mr. McGillivray served as its senior vice president of sales and marketing. Mr. McGillivray began his travel industry career with the National Railroad Passenger Corp. (Amtrak), first in field sales and then at the corporate headquarters in marketing.

In addition to earning his Certified Travel Counselor (CTC) designation from the Travel Institute, Mr. McGillivray earned a Bachelor of Science degree in education from the University of Rhode Island.
