After First Full Year for Travel Leaders Group’s Proprietary Program, Top-Booked Cities Include New York, Chicago, Washington, London and Paris 

Plymouth, MN (February 11, 2014) – As the Travel Leaders Group Worldwide Hotel Program completed its inaugural year in providing all travel agents under its vast umbrella with highly competitive and commissionable rates at all participating hotel properties, it was announced today that thousands of new hotels have been added. Travel agents affiliated with one of Travel Leaders Group’s brands now have the opportunity to earn guaranteed commissions at approximately 34,000 properties worldwide – an increase of just over 50% since the program’s inception. 

According to data collected through the GDS – travel agents use code 7TL for Worldspan, Apollo and Amadeus and TL7 for Sabre – more than 350,000 room nights have been booked through the end of last year. The most popular domestic cities booked throughout 2013 included New York, Chicago, Washington, Denver, Houston and Atlanta. The top three international cities that were booked included London, Paris and Toronto.

Liben said that the data for the first year indicates that the program has gained particular traction among corporate-oriented travel agents. “It’s not lost on us that the most-booked destinations are typically associated with business travel, thus underscoring the business to leisure ratio inherent within our business,” Liben explained. “However, the high placement of popular leisure destinations like Orlando and Las Vegas demonstrates that our leisure agents are also actively using the program. We’re excited that our Worldwide Hotel Program has been embraced by both kinds of agents.”
